BOOKS for Okakarara Christian Lending Library

mission

A DIFFERENT KIND OF MISSION!  (Let's share our wealth.)

Recently our church library had an appeal from Charles Kuvare of Okakarara,
South Africa for Gospel tracts. Charles has established a fledging nonprofit,
Christian lending library. Their mission is to lend Christian media to lay
personnel who, like some of us, do not have the time to attend Bible School.

I asked Charles what he needed. He said books on sermon preparation,
Bible studies, Bible dictionaries, Christian life, marriage, and church management,
including media for children. My guess is an English dictionary, Bible commentary,
(A set of Layman’s Bible Commentaries would be ideal.) and concordance would
also be helpful.  Large print in all these items would be great, but not required.
I suspect it is impossible for them to imagine homes with multiple Bibles.

We are hoping there is someone who is looking for a good home for an English
dictionary, a 24 volume set of the Layman's Bible Commentary, and a Concordance.
These items should provide a fairly well balanced collection.

When I shared this information with Charles’ teacher, she said, . . . “the material
you have mentioned will be valuable to his library and himself as he loves a dictionary.”
Can you imagine a teacher making that statement in the states?  Jeanette also solved
a problem that had been plaguing me. The schools teach English in this area.  I
gather some are more fluent than others.  Or perhaps some cannot attend school.

The post office tells me a “media bag” will cost us $44.00 for 11 pounds. Then $4.00
per pound up to $66.00. CDs and DVDs must go first class, 98 cents an ounce.

For further information, call Lois at 406-745-0333, (please leave a message if necessary)
or e-mail chlibrarylady@hotmail.com.  Books can be put in the book drop if that is more
convenient, at the Christian Missionary Alliance church.

If you prefer to donate cash mark it "Africa" and put it in the tithe box in the narthex.
Or send it to Christian Lending Library, P. O. Box 477, St. Ignatius, Montana 59865.

Jeanette served part time, until she took early retirement to devote full time to this
ministry.  She tells me Charles is leadership material.  So let’s do our part by providing
media for him to work with.
